Research Proposal Reflection
This assignment helped me consider my audience when choosing my topic. Initially, I had hoped to research stem cells and their use, but I soon realized that not everyone in the class would find this topic interesting when I was presenting. Thus, I chose to focus on doctors, as many people in this class plan on entering the medical field. I also learned how to narrow my research into a single topic, as the sources I found provided a wide variety of issues, all of which were valid research topics. The plethora of topics made it difficult to decide what my research questions should have been, but I considered my audience to help me decide what would be the best use of my time into research.
This assignment also helped me learn the logical structure of a research paper. The proposal helped me plan what my research paper should be like, and how it is different than typical papers. In regular papers, the analysis is typically provided immediately after the evidence. But in a research paper, all the evidence is organized and presented, and then it is analyzed and conclusions are made based on the evidence.

The proposal also helped me realize the impact of all the different kinds of sources, particularly interviews. Interviews provide pathos to real world problems, which make them more relatable than simply providing statistics. Finding people to interview was not very difficult, as I know many people in the medical field who were willing to help.
